The BOM export produces an Excel file with the bill of material (BOM) data. If you want to import BOM data from another software tool into EVMax, you can use the EVMax export file as a model to build the data extract from the other tool. Importing BOM data from another system into EVMax is recommended, particularly with large, complex hierarchical BOMs.
You can use the BOM export and import options to create the BOM data. For example, you could enter an initial set of BOM data, export that data, and use Excel functions to copy, add, and edit the rows. Once you have produced the BOM data, you can import the data into EVMax.
Select Home > BOM in the Navigation Menu. The BOM tab window displays.
Select your project from the Project dropdown in the Ribbon Menu if needed. The default selection is the current active project in the main EVMax window. The left pane displays the list of BOMs defined for the project.
Select the BOM you want to export in the left pane.
Click Export in the Ribbon Menu.
Navigate to the directory where you want to save your export file, enter a file name, and click Save. The file is saved as a Microsoft Excel file type (.xlsx or .xls). An export complete dialog box displays.
Click OK.
Optional. Open the Excel file to view the data export.
